Uladzimir Karatkievich

Uladzimir Karatkievich (; ; 26 November 1930 – 25 July 1984) was a Belarusian Soviet writer, publicist, poet, translator, dramatist, and screenwriter, recognized as a classic of Belarusian literature. He is considered one of the most prominent figures in 20th-century Belarusian literature and was the first Belarusian writer to explore the genre of historical mystery.
